The attachment of filament to the anthers determines the classification of stamens. When the filament is attached along the entire/Whole length of the anther, it is called adnate. It is seen in Nicotiana, Magnolia, Mechelia ( Champa).
- In dorsifixed condition, filaments are attached to the dorsal side of the anthers.
- In basifixed condition, filaments are attached to the base of the anthers.
- In versatile condition, filaments are attached to a point on the connective so that anthers can swing freely.
